College Level Information
You may enroll online, by mail, fax, or in person.
Convenient, IDL Enrollment Application is available for most students — however this method is not available for students of LSU (Baton Rouge), other LSU system universities or Nicholls State. These students must have the application signed by an authorized representative of their college's office. If you attend any of these schools, please print a copy of the enrollment application form. High School students wishing to enroll in a college course must have the signature of their principal or counselor and must also use a printed application form.
All other students may use the IDL Enrollment Application. Prospective students must have an e-mail address to complete application. Online enrollment requires online payment by MasterCard, VISA, Discover, American Express, or Diner Club. You will be asked for your social security number. This application will be submitted through a secure transaction. If you are not comfortable with this form of transaction, or if you need to use other payment options, you should print the application form and submit it by mail, fax, or in person.
Because of increased security, some Social Security Numbers may not be accepted. If you have trouble enrolling online please contact us via the address/phone numbers provided below.

To process your application as quickly as possible, please make sure you complete all parts of the application form, obtain your college's approval if required, and include the correct fees.
If you have been admitted to a degree program at LSU, whether currently enrolled or not, you must obtain permission from your college dean or counselor.
You may enroll in a course for a second time; however, you may take the same version of a course no more than twice. If you choose to repeat a course, you must enroll and complete the entire course. No work done under a previous enrollment will count toward the re-enrollment. If a new version of the course has been released, you must enroll in the new version.
The goal of the Office of Independent and Distance Learning is to process each application in three to five business days. Delays in processing may occur during University examination and registration periods, and during holidays.
